Life in the Nations has build an orphanage in
Guntur, South India.

Please pray about this project with us.

We have a great need but a great God who works through His People.

There are many orphans living on the streets, railway stations and waste ground at present l

When I was in India in February 2007, I was able to find some land to build the orphanage on. Below you can see a picture of some of our orphans on the land and a plan for the building.

We have built the orphanage, but the problem we have is a lack of funds.

The name of the orphanage is “Touching Heaven” as our prayer network “Touching Heaven and Changing Earth” will be presenting this project.

The cost has now been met and the building completed, this will provide good accommodation for these very poor orphans and two widows who will help to look after the orphans. But there are still many needs. Please click on plans and progress button below.

The Lord has said to look after the orphans and the widows, please can you help us in any way. James 1:27 The religion that God our father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep ones self from being polluted by the world.

We are available to come and visit Church’s, etc. to talk about the orphans and the orphanage or the work we are doing in the Nations.

Many of these orphans are living in railway stations. They beg by day and at night they sleep on the road sides. We have seen a 4 year old little girl with no mother or father being looked after by an 8 year old child living on the railway station begging for food for the two of them to live.

Some times these orphans have to eat damaged fruit and scrap’s thrown away by people passing by. They have no Clothes, no food, no where to sleep, no education, nothing. These orphans go though much pain and suffering. Cast down by their own race.

The story written below has come to be almost like our motto, where instead of feeling hopeless and giving up, we feel that we are doing something about the situation and are able to keep going.

The boy and the Starfish

One day a man was walking along a beach when he saw that all along the high tide mark there was thousands upon thousands of starfish stranded by the ebbing tide. He looked closely at them and could see hundreds of little tentacles on their underside moving without effect as the hot sun slowly baked them to death.

As he walked further along the beach he came to a young boy who was throwing a starfish back into the sea. The man said to him “why are you doing that, there are thousand of the starfish on the beach, what difference will that make ?” The boy answered “it will make a difference to that one sir.”

You see, we know that there are thousands upon thousands of orphaned, unwanted children living on the street of India, and we know we can not help them all. But we can make a difference to some of the children, and with your help we can make a difference to even more.

We have taken in twenty two children and have room for another eighteen in our purpose built orphanage. Please help us if you can by giving a gift to help us with the running costs of the orphanage or by sponsoring a child.
